An Architecture Inspired Watch
Soft watch has its casing and strap made of one TPE plastic piece, this helps reducing manufacturing cost, assembling cost, and streamlining recycling process. Using the thickness of the flexible case and band to control the rigidity and transparency on different areas of the watch.

Soft watch project contributes a great creative sense into our fast moving South Australian product design field. The design focuses on practical design philosophy that using the properties of the materials to derive the majority of a design.

By reducing the numbers of parts and simplifying the architecture of the watch, manufacturing can easily be performed within South Australia whilst still possibly offering an affordable watch for the target users.

This project demonstrates a great convergence of creativity and practicality. Soft watch also represents sustainable design as its outer casing is changeable and can easily be recycled at the end of its lifetime.
